About this piece
A luxurious bar handle with an iridescent Sedef (mother-of-pearl) surface quality in multiple glamorous finish options. Material: Aluminium. Available in Sedef Fume, Sedef Bronze, Sedef Copper, and Matte Gold. Sizes: 160mm, 224mm, 288mm. An Aluminium wardrobe handles for luxury kitchens and premium walk-in wardrobes.
The Sintra is a bar handle from the Makss European Series, and the point of it is the surface: an iridescent Sedef, or mother-of-pearl, finish that changes tone with the light. Sedef Fume reads smoky and cool, Sedef Bronze and Sedef Copper read warm and darkened, and Matte Gold is an even, non-reflective gold. The handle is aluminium and comes in 160mm, 224mm and 288mm. Use 160mm on kitchen cabinet fronts and small drawers, 288mm on wardrobe shutters and tall units, with 224mm sitting between the two. Choose it when a plain bar would go unnoticed in a luxury kitchen or a walk-in wardrobe. Browse the rest of the European collection.
Size guide
CC (centre-to-centre) is the distance between the two screw holes. Replacing old handles? Measure hole to hole and match the CC below. New fronts? A handle looks best at about a third of the drawer's width — choose the CC closest to that. Length is the handle end to end; depth is how far it stands off the door.
| Size (CC) | Length | Width | Depth |
|---|---|---|---|
| 160 mm | 250 mm | 25 mm | 40 mm |
| 224 mm | 350 mm | 28 mm | 40 mm |
| 288 mm | 550 mm | 35 mm | 45 mm |

The craft
Each piece is finished by hand, so no two catch the light identically — the small variations are the signature of real handwork, not a defect. Metals are hand-polished before sealing; ceramic is glazed and fired piece by piece.
“Evening light moves across the room. The handle catches it first — soft glow over warm metal — and for a second the drawer front looks less like storage, more like furniture. That's the difference a considered handle makes.”
